Companies for Women 2007 by Working Mother

Leader in On Demand Homework Help and Tutoring Services
Offers Flexible Environment for Working Mothers

NEW YORK, NY – March 14, 2007 - Tutor.com, the world leader in live, on demand homework help and tutoring services has been chosen as one of the 25 Best Small Companies for Women for 2007 by Working Mother. The company is being recognized for its family-friendly benefits, entrepreneurial and community spirit, and programs to help women advance.

Profiled in the April issue of Working Mother magazine, Tutor.com is celebrated for its family-friendly policies that include comprehensive healthcare, flexible maternity leave and return policies, and the ability to work from home offices. About 65% of Tutor.com employees work one or more days a week remotely. Women hold senior management positions across the organization and are able to mentor their female colleagues. Additionally, all employees with children in middle and high school receive free access to online math, science, social studies and English help through Tutor.com’s services.

As part of Tutor.com’s on demand tutoring model, the company has over 1,200 tutors across the U.S. and Canada that work as independent contractors. Many of the tutors are women in the education field who have chosen to stay home with their children. They enjoy a flexible schedule that allows them to tutor from their own home during non-traditional work hours so they can more easily accommodate their families’ needs.

“Working mothers have been an important part of the success and growth of our business,” said George Cigale, CEO and founder of Tutor.com. “It’s fantastic to be recognized by Working Mother magazine for providing many of the great programs that larger companies offer to help working mothers have the flexibility and control to balance their family life along with a fulfilling career.”

Launched in 2006, the Working Mother Best Small Companies initiative honors businesses with between five and 100 employees that are using innovative combinations of traditional and creative benefits to improve work/life balance.
